Legacy of Pride 2015

On Friday, February 27, St. Raymond 4th thru 8th graders celebrated Black History Month with their presentation “A Trip to the African American Library – Where Books Come Alive”.  Fourth graders set the tone with a skit centered on students visiting a library – they also displayed their musical talent with Michael Jackson’s ABC.  6th, 7th, and 8th grade students researched African American  Illustrators, Novelists, Playwrights, Autobiographies, Athletes, and Civil Rights Activists.  Their research came to life, as they became wax figures depicting the African Americans they researched.  Fifth graders closed the presentation with a skit displaying the knowledge the students learned from the Library visit – they also displayed their musical talent with “Goin’ Places” .
